This program was writted to evaluate the performance of our Lantasti
network and compare the effects of various server settings and traffic
loading of the network. It reads and writes a series of 1K records to
any drive you are using (drives D thru Z). Drive C: is considered your
local drive and cannot be tested. There are four command line arguments
that may be used with Lanspeed Ver. 2.00.
/R=XXXX specifies the number of 1K records to read and write. This can
be any number from 100 to 9999. 1000 is the default is none is
specified.
/T=XX:YY specifies the time to start the test. This can be used to start
the test running from several machines at once to evaluate how heavier
traffic is affecting your network. Enter this in 24 hr format such as
14:00 for 2:00pm. If this argument is detected, the program will wait
until the time you specified to begin execution. If you made a mistake,
such as specifying T=13:00 at 2:00pm, rather than wait 23 hours for the
program to run, you can press the ESCAPE key to return to DOS or the
ENTER key to begin the test immediately.
/MONO specifies to run the program in monochrome mode. Use this if the
program cannot determine it is being run on a monochrome system.
/? or /HELP displays a screen of the above information.
